Succop Nature Park

Succop Nature Park is a former estate outside Butler, now run by the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, with a mansion, formal gardens and walking trails across the grounds. The season matters here more than at most venues, and it is the first thing to check: from May to October the grounds carry a wedding of up to 250 guests, but from November to April the indoor rooms only seat around 58, or 75 for a standing reception. That is a hard ceiling, not a guideline, so a large winter guest list simply will not fit. Mature trees run through the property, which keeps harsh midday sun off a ceremony and gives a portrait walk shade at any hour.

Sunset times are calculated for this venue's coordinates, shown in EDT for the 15th of each month in 2026. Golden hour is the 60 minutes before sunset. The ceremony start is my rule of thumb — about 2 hours before sunset, so a short ceremony and family photos still leave the two of you in golden light. Adjust it to your own timeline. Average temperatures and rainfall are NOAA 1991–2020 normals from BUTLER 2 SW, 4.4 miles away.

Indoor mansion rooms, but they seat far fewer than the grounds — a large summer wedding needs a tent
